Organising Community Change Workshop

Join other passionate and committed community members to attend a workshop that uses the “Camp Obama” volunteer training programme, one of the most powerful organizing techniques ever used. In the US last year, the "Camp Obama" training sessions gave thousands of volunteers the skills to lead campaigns in their communities, and was responsible for one of the most successful political campaigns in history.

The Organising Community Change trainings will cover team-building, leadership development, getting great media coverage, and organizing a progressive movement that wins on issues like Climate Change, and other environmental and social justice issues. The focus is to mobilise your collective capacity, and catalyse a new movement of community groups that will stand together, work together and reclaim the country for a shared vision that we have for it. Please see the attached draft agenda for more information (a detailed agenda will be forwarded to participants prior to the workshop).

Participants
The workshop is targeted towards grassroots-level organisations working for change in any area of sustainability. The workshop will have the greatest impact if many group members can attend together because this powerful programme is designed around building skills as a team as it is about mobilising change in individuals. We promise that after you tell them about your experiences, anyone who missed out will wish they had been there! Spaces are limited and so priority will be given to groups attending together.
